Task 4
For this task i had to make a variation of animations. There where 12 rules for animation. They made the animation feel more realistic and alive. They where:
- Squash and Stretch
- Anticipation
- Staging
- Straight Ahead and Pose to Pose
- Follow Through and Over Lapping Action
- Slow In and Slow Out
- Arcs
- Secondary Actions
- Timing
- Exaggeration
- Solid Drawing
- Appeal
- Death Sequence.
- Explosion.
- Walking.
- Running.
- Jumping.
In the making of the Animation i used the software Photo-shop. The way i made the animation was not the most efficient way to make animation. I had to copy and paste each tile individually into one new Photoshop project then i had to use the timeline feature and create a new frame by showing the next layer and hiding the previous. I sometimes also had to expand the canvas so the sprite would get cut off when i pasted it in the new photo shop project. When creating the animations i had to get the delay right for every frame. The delay stayed at 0.2 seconds for most frames however it was 0.1 seconds for some and other animations had a mix between 0.2 and 0.1 seconds. The jump animation for example, i had to decrease the delay a little bit when Pikachu was going into the air.
These delay setting made Pikachu Jump made the jump more believable. I noticed that it wasn't necessary for all delay to be the same. So i made changes to the delay for every animation so it would be believable. This are the delays for all the Other Animations.
Now all the animations are done i put them into a game-maker room. where all the animation would be looped. Game-maker made the animation faster than they were i had to reduce the frame per second from 30 to 10 so it would normal.
